Aston Martin DB2 Corrugated Internal Door Trim
New- DB2 First Sanction
- DB2
Handmade brass corrugated internal door trims that faithfully recreate the distinctive ribbed profile characteristic of the earliest Feltham era DB2 models. Mounted along the upper interior door trim, they provide authentic period detailing that complements the exterior corrugated brightwork.
Each trim features the same intricate ribbed cross‑sectional profile as our exterior corrugated bumpers and body side mouldings, but at half the width. Straight trim strips were an attractive interior feature on First Sanction cars, though some have since been lost, replaced, damaged or deteriorated over the decades.
Manufactured using the same proprietary DMark® tooling and forming techniques developed for our corrugated trim assemblies, where we overcame the difficulties of manufacturing high‑quality corrugated profiling. Our specialised working process ensures the ribbed geometry remains consistent and straight throughout the length of each strip, avoiding deformations and wobbles.
These door trim profiles are left open and do not have soldered flush end‑caps. Instead, a separate plate tailored closely with the door encapsulates and finishes each end.
Fastening: Components are secured using customer‑supplied slotted self‑tapping screws or similar fixings through pre‑drilled holes positioned along the trim length. Holes have a fractional dishing to accommodate a countersink.
All DMark® DB2 corrugated internal door trims are finished as polished brass and chrome‑ready.
Customers may receive their door trims in polished brass or chrome plated if fully finished. DMark® partners exclusively with established, reputable electroplating specialists who share our exacting quality standards and understand the complexities of plating vulnerable sheet components.
Many clients choose DMark® to manage the chrome plating for consistency and quality assurance. However, we understand some customers prefer to coordinate plating themselves particularly when batching with other brightwork components after a dry‑fit.
Components can be supplied at our indicative standard dimensions, cut to customer‑specified measurements, or oversized with additional material length for customer trimming and tailoring to their specific doors.
Primarily made‑to‑order due to the customisation options available.
Pre‑drilled holes with a countersunk dishing in the metal (or if required, smaller pilot holes) are positioned centrally along the trim length unless clients specify custom hole spacings. Fasteners are not supplied—customers provide slotted self‑tapping screws or similar fixings.
Straight strips at half the width of our corrugated bumper trim components, featuring the same authentic ribbed cross‑sectional shape.
Customers should be aware that vehicles which have had extensive door or interior restoration may have altered door trim dimensions. We have taken considerable care to replicate the most authentic original dimensions, though this may occasionally differ from a vehicle’s current characteristics due to previous modifications or repairs. Minor adjustments may occasionally be required to achieve optimal fitment.
A pair comprising both the near‑side and off‑side corrugated internal door trim strips for early DB2 models. Each trim maintains authentic corrugated profile geometry throughout its length and is manufactured to the highest DMark® standards for period correctness.
The most popular option for customers undertaking comprehensive interior restorations or replacing deteriorated originals where both door trims require replacement.
Near‑side corrugated internal door trim strip for customers requiring single‑side replacement, featuring the authentic corrugated profile.
Off‑side corrugated internal door trim strip for customers requiring single‑side replacement, featuring the authentic corrugated profile.
