Coming soon — steel bumper stiffener bars (sometimes known as bumper irons) that provide additional support and structural foundation for DB2 bumper blade assemblies. These mild steel stiffener bars fit behind and within the bumper blade profile, creating the crucial mounting interface between the chrome‑plated blade and the vehicle’s existing bracketry.
Each stiffener bar is formed to match the shape of its corresponding bumper blade, functioning as the structural backbone that supports the chrome‑plated mild steel outer bumper blade.
In keeping with the DMark® philosophy of examining every detail for potential improvement, we are developing custom‑designed spacers that address the slight gap between the curved bumper blade profile and flat sided stiffener bar. These precision 3D‑printed spacers, manufactured from carbon fibre‑filled nylon, will be included with every stiffener bar to ensure optimal positioning and secure housing, improved fastening, and simplified assembly.
Manufactured from mild steel and powder‑coated black for corrosion protection, our stiffener bars feature period‑correct slotted mounting holes that align with corresponding bracketry and holes in the blade. The oversized slots facilitate precise alignment during installation, ensuring proper bumper blade positioning.
At DMark® we do encounter original stiffener bars showing signs of impact damage, corrosion, or distortion from decades of use. While some examples can be straightened and restored, the combination of age‑related metal fatigue, accumulated damage, and the relatively modest replacement cost often makes new stiffener bars the preferred solution for customers undertaking comprehensive bumper or vehicle restoration.
For customers requiring aluminium number plate carrier boxes, these also mount through the stiffener bar and blade assemblies. If replacement carrier boxes are needed, we manufacture those as well.
All DMark® DB2 bumper stiffener bars are manufactured from mild steel and finished with durable black powder coating, providing reliable long‑term corrosion protection while maintaining a discreet, period‑appropriate appearance behind the chrome bumper blades.
Each stiffener bar features four slotted mounting holes positioned to accommodate the original factory mounting points while providing minor adjustment capabilities.
Every stiffener set includes our custom 3D‑printed spacers manufactured from carbon fibre‑filled nylon. These precision‑formed components address the natural gap between the curved bumper blade profile and flat stiffener bar, ensuring optimal positioning and easier fitting.

Mounting fasteners are not currently included but may be offered in future. Customers should verify their existing mounting hardware and fixture condition, replacing as necessary.

Original Component Repair & Replacement
Given their position behind the bumper blades and exposure to road conditions over many decades, original stiffener bars commonly show historical impact damage, corrosion, or distortion.
At DMark® we have historically offered straightening and repair services for bent or damaged original componentry, and this remains a possibility for customers with serviceable bars requiring minor correction.
However, the combination of age‑related metal fatigue, accumulated damage from decades of use, and modest replacement cost typically makes new stiffener bars the preferred solution. For customers undertaking a comprehensive bumper restoration, particularly when paired with our new blades or seeking betterment, we recommend replacement over repair.

We believe MK II models use stiffener bars corresponding to either the MK I or DB MK III bumper assemblies. We’re working to verify this compatibility and welcome input from MK II owners to assist in our efforts.
