Handmade brass rear number plate surround housings designed for standard oblong‑type plates fitted to the boot‑lid of DB2, DB2/4 MK I and DB2/4 MK II models. Each housing accommodates the specific dimensions and mounting requirements of period‑correct number plate configurations.
Derived from original factory drawings and measurements taken from genuine parts, these surrounds are fabricated using our proprietary DMark® custom tooling, jigs, patterns and manufacturing aids developed over decades.
The original factory specification features three separate pieces—a central section and two shorter side pieces. While the reasoning behind this three‑part construction remains unclear from surviving documentation, this configuration does reflect the design of the period.
DMark® however, offers flexibility for customers preferring alternative configurations—including a single‑piece construction or bespoke dimensions tailored to your specific number plate requirements.
We also manufacture and supply number plate surround housings for customers requiring square plate formats that mount directly to the vehicle’s rear bodywork—a configuration featured on specific DB2 models that used this alternative mounting arrangement.
The factory specification measures 20 3⁄8″ from inside edge across the length (maximum width of number plate).

Customers may receive their new boot‑lid number plate surrounds in polished brass or chrome plated. DMark® partners exclusively with established, reputable electroplating specialists who share our exacting quality standards.
The DB2 rear number plate surround housings are essentially bolt‑on components, so many clients prefer us to manage the chrome plating process. However, we understand that some customers prefer to handle plating themselves—particularly when coordinating comprehensive restoration work and batching chrome components together after a dry-fit.

Complete fixtures and fasteners (nuts and bolts) are supplied with every housing.
Customers should be aware that vehicles with extensive repairs may have altered bodywork geometry due to paintwork processes and body filler usage, which can subtly affect panel shape where surrounds are positioned. We have taken considerable care to replicate the most authentic original geometry, though this may occasionally differ from a vehicle’s current surface characteristics. Similarly, stud hole positions in bodywork may vary from new DMark® component specifications and minor adjustments may occasionally be required to achieve optimal fitment.
