Aston Martin DB MK III Front Grille Mesh
New- DB MK III
Our new grille meshes are engineered for the DB MK III models and aluminium surrounds. They feature imperial‑sized square holes that faithfully replicate 1950s original mesh specification. The mesh incorporates 3⁄8″ equally sized square holes in a regular linear pattern with 1⁄8″ gaps.
Meshes align best with our new tab-less aluminium surround profiles—but should also fit vehicles which do not use this surround variant.
Our innovative DMark® design incorporates integrated mounting provisions that enable a simplified installation without requiring the surround to be removed from the bonnet aperture as has been the case until now. This makes fitting both easier and more streamlined for ongoing maintenance.
Where original factory meshes featured a wire bead around the perimeter, our improved design integrates this strengthening rim within the same sheet and pattern design, which is a much neater package. All new design elements, including fixing points and mounting allowances, remain discretely hidden behind the surround profile and bonnet aperture when correctly installed.
Each mesh is supplied with a subtle curve bias to naturally complement the bonnet’s front®end near®side to off®side sweep.
Customers may specify their new mild steel or brass mesh in polished finish or chrome plated. DMark® partners exclusively with established, reputable electroplating specialists who share our exacting quality standards.
As these meshes are essentially bolt‑on components, many clients prefer DMark® to manage the chrome plating process for consistency and convenience. However, we understand some customers prefer to coordinate plating themselves—particularly when batching chrome work with other restoration components after dry‑fitting.
All DMark® DB MK III grille meshes are precision‑cut from polished material and arrive ready for either chrome plating or direct installation.
Primarily made‑to‑order.
All DMark® variant meshes include fasteners; fasteners are optional with the factory specification version.
Customers should be aware that vehicles with extensive bodywork repairs may have altered panel geometry due to paintwork processes and body filler usage, which can affect the zones where meshes are positioned. DMark® has taken considerable care to replicate the most authentic original geometry, though this may occasionally differ from a vehicle’s current surface characteristics. Similarly, mounting points in bodywork may vary from new DMark® component specifications and minor adjustments may occasionally be required to achieve optimal fitment.
Mild steel construction replicating the material used on original DB MK III factory meshes. This variant provides authentic period correctness for concours restorations while incorporating our enhanced mounting and structural improvements.
Brass construction offering a non‑ferrous alternative that eliminates the corrosion concerns associated with mild steel over time. This variant provides excellent longevity while maintaining exact visual characteristics when chrome plated.
Polished 316 stainless steel construction requiring no chrome plating while providing superior corrosion resistance for long‑term durability. We believe polished stainless steel presents an attractive alternative to traditional chrome, though customers should note that factory vehicles originally featured a mild steel construction with chrome plating.
Our most authentic recreation, featuring the basic imperial hole pattern with the integrated perimeter steel bead exactly as fitted to Feltham cars during the 1950s. While more labour‑intensive to fabricate due to incorporating the bead, this variant serves customers prioritising absolute originality.
This configuration pairs best with our tabbed aluminium surround for complete period authenticity and traditional mounting methods.
